    The Giraffe became very angry.

"You'll see! You'll see!", she shouted.

It so happens the Giraffe was a scientist. She went to her laboratory and started using her powders, liquids, tubes and balloons of all sizes and shapes. She invented a magic potion and, exultant, came back to meet the ant.

"Do you want to see, now? Do you want to see?", challenged the Giraffe, taking her potion.

"Let me put the provisions on the ground so that I can laugh better", answered the ant making fun of her, interested in seeing how far would go the Giraffe's nonsense. "But be quick" she added, " I must be going home".

Before the very eyes of the ant and of all the other unbelieving animals that had approached, the Giraffe began to diminish more and more, becoming black, with a very elegant waist, astonishing small legs and amazing little feelers! After a couple of seconds the Giraffe was... an ant!

You can't imagine the joy of the Giraffe, I mean, of the Ant Scientist! She ran all around, moving her feelers to and fro, climbing lively to branches and bushes.

The other one, the ant, that's to say, the real ant, was so scared that she forgot both her laughter and her family´s lunch. She ran to her ant- hill where she spread the news about an ant-giraffe, which nobody believed, of course. They thought the ant had caught too much sun on her little round head and simply had gone nuts!

As for the Giraffe, since that day she became even more vain and insolent.

And as the potion's effect was just temporary, soon she could take up her normal life and get back to her inventions.
